The article presents the results of mathematical modeling of the influence of technological parameters of a CNC machining center on the resource efficiency of the manufacturing process of medium-density fiberboard (MDF) door leaves. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing need to improve the efficiency of resource utilization in the woodworking industry through the optimization of machining parameters without equipment modernization or product redesign. Modern woodworking enterprises increasingly employ CNC machining centers and CAM technologies, making the scientific substantiation of technological parameters an important factor in improving production efficiency, reducing manufacturing costs, and increasing competitiveness. The object of the research is the CNC machining process of MDF door leaves. The subject of the research is the influence of the tool feed rate and the transverse step-over between adjacent milling passes on the specific machining time and the integrated resource efficiency index of the manufacturing process. A full-factor experimental design based on response surface methodology was applied to develop a second-order regression model describing the machining process. The independent variables were the tool feed rate in the range of 10–20 m/min and the transverse step-over in the range of 8–16 mm. The response variable was the specific machining time, expressed in minutes per door leaf. The developed mathematical model adequately describes the influence of the investigated technological parameters on machining time and enables quantitative prediction of process efficiency within the investigated factor space. The results demonstrate that the tool feed rate has the greatest influence on machining performance, whereas increasing the step-over further reduces machining time by decreasing the total number of tool passes and the overall toolpath length. An integrated resource efficiency index based on the ratio between the machining time of the investigated regime and the reference technological regime is proposed as a universal criterion for evaluating manufacturing efficiency. The rational machining parameters determined within the investigated range are a tool feed rate of 20 m/min and a transverse step-over of 16 mm, providing the minimum specific machining time of 12.17 min per door leaf and the highest level of process resource efficiency. The practical significance of the research lies in the development of a scientifically substantiated methodology for selecting CAM programming parameters for CNC machining centers used in door leaf manufacturing. The proposed regression model enables prediction of machining time during technological process planning, supports the selection of rational machining parameters, improves equipment productivity, reduces production cycle time and manufacturing costs, and contributes to the implementation of digital manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 principles in the woodworking industry.
