The study focuses on determining the patterns of stable curved shape formation in panel elements made of medium-density fibreboard (MDF) and on mathematical modelling of the minimum allowable radius of curvature depending on the principal technological parameters. The relevance of the research is determined by the need for a scientifically substantiated selection of manufacturing conditions for bent-laminated elements used in furniture and joinery products, where the key requirement is not only to achieve the specified curvature during forming but also to preserve stable residual geometry after completion of the technological process. The variable factors were the thickness of a single MDF layer, h=2.0–6.0 mm, and the holding time between adhesive application and forming, τ=2–10 min. The response variable was the minimum allowable radius of curvature Rmin, at which a stable curved panel element can be produced without failure, cracking, delamination, or unacceptable springback. A two-factor experimental design with five replicate tests was applied. The mean experimental values of Rmin ranged from 104.240 to 382.840 mm. The thickness of a single MDF layer was found to have the dominant effect: increasing the layer thickness resulted in a substantial increase in the minimum allowable radius. The effect of technological holding time was nonlinear and exhibited an extremum, with a rational range located at approximately 6–7 min. A second-order polynomial mathematical model incorporating linear and quadratic effects as well as factor interaction was developed. The lowest experimentally determined value, Rmin=104.240 mm, was obtained at h=2.0 mm and τ=6 min. The established relationships provide a scientific and technological basis for selecting MDF layer thickness and holding time when manufacturing bent-laminated panel elements. The results can be applied in the technological design of curved raised panels for frame-and-panel fronts, furniture panels, and other furniture and joinery components requiring a stable residual curved shape
