Abstract

Stage-gate model is a framework and a project planning tool of moving a new product project from idea concept all the way to successful launch. The methodology first introduced by Robert G. Cooper, could be implemented in various industries including wood products. The model consists of process-defined stages and gates. This paper explores the framework and the benefits of a stage-gate model including the description of stages and gates.
